Morning Drive w/ Cowboy Bob 6 - 9 am

I’ve been in the radio biz for about 28 years now and writing a bio gets harder every year. I started in radio back in 1981 by hosting a show on KMNS Radio that I named “The Midwest Rodeo Sports Review”, and when I started working part-time on air … Well, they said I needed an air name, so Chris Star named me Cowboy Bob. Now you know how it happened. You can still hear me talking about the sport of Rodeo and all the area Cowboys and Cowgirls on the Y101.3 and check out the Rodeo Corner at Y1013.net.

I’m a 1970 graduate of Woodbury Central (I should say they let me out that year) and I’m proud to be a Wildcat. I am currently the Program Director for Y101.3 and live on the air from 6 to 9am Monday through Friday. One of my favorite things about my job here is that I get to host two classic shows – “Y101.3 Classic Country Café” weekdays from 12 noon to 1pm and “Sunday Morning Gold” from 8a to 12p each Sunday morning on Y101.3.

Here is a little bit about me when not at work. I’ve lived around Moville all my life and currently on the acreage I always wanted. I have a cool dog named “Dennis” (I don’t know why I called him that, but it sure makes people talk), and my Team Roping horse named JB.

  • Hobbies --- Horses, Team Roping, working on the acreage, fiddling with my old M tractor, and I love to take in a least one Hawkeye game at Kinnick Stadium each year.
  • Favorite Singer --- George Strait
  • Favorite Band --- Asleep at the Wheel
  • Favorite Movie --- Lonesome Dove or anything with Catherine Zeta Jones, Tommy Lee Jones, or Clint Eastwood in it.
  • Favorite Team --- Iowa Hawkeyes Wow!

Am I the only one thinking of the color Beige here? Hey, Thank you for listening to Continuous Country Favorites Y101.3
